If I had the cash, I would buy a Wacom tablet and try my hand at digital art. As it is, I'm pretty good at drawing IMHO, but always trying to get better. There's a connection and ease of drawing directly on a page that no digital reproduction can do... unless they make a screen lying flat where you can draw on it...
on the physical side, painting is not my forte, as is sculpture, etc. Not sure why, but I don't like it as much. _________________ pixelfox - Forums Moderator

I can draw decently with a pencil but my mouse wont allow the same kind of control _________________ "You were good kid, real good, but as long as I'm around you're always gonna have to be second best see."

I tend to mix things up now. You get to a point on using a Mac where you need to get away from the screen, and just draw, like Pixelfox says, its impossible to make that connection with a computer. Drawing is so natural.
I can upload some of my work if you like at a later date. _________________ White Space?
I wish I was good at some sort of artistic craft - I even posted an entry in my blog about how I'm jealous of all the people who make digital art look so easy. I would love to be able to do that!
well its not easy..it takes a lot of work..those artists are just really really patient _________________ "You were good kid, real good, but as long as I'm around you're always gonna have to be second best see."

Yeah, if I could design like that, Mac GUI 4 probably wouldn't have so many features. You're either good at design or programming. I don't know anyone who's good at both. _________________ Moof!
I aint good at either one yet.. _________________ "You were good kid, real good, but as long as I'm around you're always gonna have to be second best see."

I'm a collage grad in graphic technologies/graphic design for print. I drew most of my life, mostly pen and ink.. some pencil tried painting and found I sucked. Been messing around with web design since 1998 and am comfortable with Photoshop. Get yourself a nice cordless mouse and set the tracking speed to slow and you can do some nice stuff. Practice makes perfect. I don't own a wacom, don't really need one. If I can't do it with the mouse.. I don't need to do it.
