I'm wondering why a prevert in Taiwan is making thousands of requests to my host server for pages that don't exist. Not quite a DNS attack but making my error logs turn over fast.

I get those too. The thought is that if your referral logs are public, then the guy's hot site will get some free linkage.

If not, then the thought is that at least the site's admin will check out this guy's hot site.

I'm saying that as far as I know I'm the only person who can see the logs, apart from the server admins presumably. You may be correct about self-advertisment, but it's an odd way to go about it. The Taiwan's guy's IP is listed as rogue so that's mainly his reward on earth. Most folk have more sense than to try to visit IPs from a malware site.
